SpeedNet Updation for Mail Network Optimization

Mail Network Optimization process of DOP includes only identified NSPCs/SPCs as Sorting Hubs and Intra Circle Sorting Hubs as per the Mail Network Analysis and all the delivery offices are mapped to these offices for the purpose of Bag Closing and Dispatch.

Currently SpeedNet allows the Closing of Bag to any office which is configured in the database. But with the new updation, it will be limited to only identified offices as per the new network.

Mail_NetWork_Optimization Script:

1.      Take full backup of POSPCC database.

2.      Run the MailNetWork_Optimization_Script.Exl file through Script Tool.exe for POSPCC database.

3.      After running the Script Tool, go to Script Script Tool Exe location. You will find a Log Folder therein. Open the log folder and see the log file created for POSPCC database. This file shouldn’t contain any error. If there are upgrdation related error, please send the file to ptcdesk@gmail.com with Subject of the email as “MailNetWork_Optimization_Script -Error“

4.      Login to SpeedNet client as operator and check the Close Bag option and confirm that you are getting all the required offices to Close the Bag as per the new network of offices.

5.      Any mismatch/omissions may please be taken up with Director Mails, Directorate.

Note:

BPC/CPC/MBC/OSA which are authorised to close direct bags NEED NOT download the patch for the time being and they may await further instructions.

Any other offices, if so authorised to close Direct Bags may take the permission from the concerned office for not implementing the patch.

Other important issues to be noted with this updation:

·         Any Office which has installed the Speednet Module with its Office Pincode, which is not mapped to its Circle Sorting Hub - will not be allowed to close the  Bags with Speed Post Articles.

·         Only those Offices whose pin code is mapped to a Sorting Hub (irrespective of the type) only can close the bag with Speed Post Articles in SpeedNet.

·         Hence check you Office Pin Code under Supervisor->Master ->Environment->My office Details option and confirm that the pin code of your office is mapped to a Sorting hub in the Circle.

·         If any Office is not mapped to Sorting Office, but SpeedNet Module is installed in such office, then such office can only receive the Bags, close Transit Bags and dispatch the bags but they can’t close the bags with Speed Articles (as in case of TMOs).

In the SpeedNet Module, Operator->Close Bag option is modified with the following provisions as required for the Mail Network Optimization.     

1.      At Sorting Hubs - ( 89 current SPCs are identified as Sorting Hubs)

·         Close the bags to Sorting Hubs in Other Circles.

·         Close the Bags to Other Sorting hubs and Intra Circle Hubs identified in your Circle. 

·         Close the Bags to Post Offices within the Circle as per the Pin Range mapped to the Sorting Hub.

            Note: Sorting Hub can't close direct bags to offices in other Circles other than                    the Sorting Hubs of the Other Circle.

2.      At Intra Circle Hub:

·         Close the Bag to Sorting Hub in own Circle.

·         Close the Bag to Other Intra Circle Hub in your own Circle.

·         Close the Bags to Post Offices within the Circle as per the Routing Schedule arranged for the Intra Circle Sorting Hubs. As there is no exclusive office mapping done to Intra Circle hubs, currently all the offices in the Circle will be available under Close Bag option.

3.      In all Other Type of Offices which are mapped to Sorting Hub in their respective Circle :

·         Close the Bag to Intra Circle Hub in your own Circle.

·         Close the Bag to Sorting Hub in own Circle to which your office is mapped.
